TV Mohandas Pai is the Chairman of Manipal Global Education Services and Aarin Capital.
In 2000, Pai co-founded Akshaya Patra, the world’s largest midday meal programme and works actively with government and regulators on policy recommendations and guidelines. Today the programme feeds over 1.5 million children daily in more than 8,500 schools across nine Indian States. The programme aims to feed 5,000,000 children by 2020. This programme has turned out to be the largest midday meal programme in the world and he has made substantial personal donations.
TV Mohandas Pai has also served as the Chairman of the Board of SEBI and is now a Board Member of the National Stock Exchange in India.
Until Mid 2011, Pai was a Member of the Board at Infosys Limited, he joined Infosys in 1994 and was the CFO from 1994-1996. As CFO at Infosys, Pai played a strategic role in transforming the company into one of the world’s most respected and well-known software services companies based out of India.
TV Mohandas Pai was a key player in the development of the IT services industry in India. He instituted several industry firsts in the Country. He was instrumental in instituting India’s first employee stock option plan, enabling employees across Infosys to be part of and consequently to share in the wealth creation by the company. At Infosys, Pai led the first listing of and India-registered company on the NASDAQ and the first sponsored secondary offering of American Depositary Shares by an Indian company.
TV Mohandas Pai has emerged as one of the most prolific angel investors. He has helped to start over 10 different funds in venture, growth and public markets. He also leads a private equity fund, Aarin Capital, along with Manipal Group CEO Ranjan Pai, investing in life sciences and education companies.
TV Mohandas Pai holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from St Joseph’s College of Commerce, Bangalore and a bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) from Bangalore University. He is a fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri Awardee.
