Rajdeep Sardesai is a well renowned Indian journalist and author.
He is currently a counsulting editorial manager at India Today and hosts Headlines Today. He was also the Editor-in-chief of Global Broadcast News that incorporates CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat. He left this position in 2014 and went on to help with propelling an English general news channel.
Sardesai has 17 years of experience amid which he has secured noteworthy political stories in India and abroad. He has also worked for NDTV Limited where he was the Managing Editor of the news channels NDTV 24X7 and NDTV India and was in charge of directing the news schedule for both channels. He filled in as an Additional Director of Television Eighteen India Ltd. from 2005.
Sardesai was voted the Person of the Year by Impact, a magazine by the “exchange4media” Group. He has won various other awards including the “News Anchor of the Year” for the three consecutive years at the Hero Honda India Television Academy Awards and “Best TV News Anchor” at the India News Television Awards 2008.
In 2008, he was granted the Padma Shri. He won the Journalist of the Year grant and won the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards in 2007.
