Punita Lal is a high level, proficient manager with more than 25 years of involvement in system, advertising and authority, spreading over numerous topographies and societies. Lal’s last position was as CEO for NourishCo, a joint venture between the Tatas and PepsiCo in the region.
Her professional career began in the promoting business with Lintas, before moving to J Walter Thompson (JWT). While with JWT, she built up Pepsi’s effective “Are you ready for the magic” marketing campaign.
Punita Lal also worked in various senior marketing positions with Coca-Cola in China and the Far East until 2002. She has been a Non-Executive Independent Director of CEAT Limited since April 2014 and a Non-Executive Independent Director at Cipla Limited since November 2014.
She received a graduate degree in Economics from St. Stephens College, New Delhi and a MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.
Punita Lal has numerous honors, which also include being chosen as one of India’s top 20 Business Women by Business Today in 2006 and being awarded Corporate Woman of the Year in 2009 by the Indian FICCI Women’s Organization.
