Arun Maira is a Management Consultant and former member of the Planning Commission of India. He is also the former Chairman of Boston Consulting Group, India.
For 25 years Maira was a member of the TATA Administrative Service and worked in several senior positions in the TATA Group in India and abroad, including as Executive Director on the board of TATA Motors from 1981-1989.
From 1989-1999 with worked in the USA for the international management consultancy Arthur D Little Inc., working with companies across the world on issues of growth strategies and transformational change.
He returned to India in 2000 to join The Boston Consulting Group as Chairman and in 2009 Arum Maria was appointed a Member of the Planning Commission in the Government of India.
Arun Maira currently serves on the boards of several educational institutes in India and abroad, he is a member of the National Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Chairman of the Confederation’s Leadership Summit, advisor to the UN Global Compact and a trustee of Aspen Indian.
He is the writer of a few books including “Changing Capitalism: Business Leadership to Improve the World for Everyone”, and “Moulding the Future: Aspirational Leadership in India and Beyond”.
